I have a pretty healthy sized gallery from Day 1 of the 2006 ESA Easterns. All in all it was a pretty decent day of surfing. Although the lighting was difficult I managed to get some ok shots all day long, even in the early morning backlight.

This shot was taken of a couple of guys riding different sections of the same wave in the free suring area just south of the contest area, the guy in the orange jersey was coming in after his heat ended. I know this looks fake but it’s not, I actually missed the next snap where the guy in the middle launched into an air of his own, because I wanted to make sure I got this shot.
