Dec 11th Back in VB

Monday, December 11th, 2006

k, with the exception of a few tourist type shots, everything from the North Shore should finally be uploaded and viewable. Even though we missed Pipe , and the contest, by one day It was still a great time to take photos on the North Shore. I have just shipped my main camera back to Nikon to fix the damage that happened sometime last week, and to get that damn dust spec removed from the sensor. I get sick just looking at these galleries knowing that thing is in every shot (ok I removed it from the images in one of the galleries, but with 3500 shots I couldn’t do it to all of them although it is possible, I wanted to get these images up as fast as possible).  I’ll be back in town sometime Saturday night, maybe I’ll make it to the VLF party (Click here for info)  and maybe we’ll get some surf here locally when my Camera returns. Keep your fingers crossed!

December 9th - Last day on the North Shore

Monday, December 11th, 2006

Spent another day shooting at Rocky Point after getting the call from Brendan Petticrew. Shots include Brendan, Wes Laine, Ian Parnell , Bobby Martinez, Taj Burrow and whoever else happened to be out there.  Ok 930 images have finally been uploaded from this last day of my visit to the north shore. I was in the ”hold the button down and blast the sequence” mode again just hoping to get something special. Click on the image below to view the entire gallery I believe there are 10 pages on this one!

December 8th North Shore

Another very windy day, the only spot we could find that was breaking was Sunset Beach. Pipe wasn’t doing anything. Gallery is now up you can view the entire gallery by clicking on the image below.

December 7th Victory at Sea on Pearl Harbor day

Thursday, December 7th, 2006

Surf was huge today on the North Shore, the reports were saying 22ft faces, but the wind was howling out of the north. Conditions were nothing close to clean, the only spot anybody was surfing was Waimea but that didn’t even look all that great. Hopefully the 8th will prove to be a better day condition wise and I’ll be back to taking 600 photos. As for the 7th the Spongers were in control at Pipe so I have a small Gallery of the few guys who were actually out there. Click on the Image below to see the gallery.

December 6th North Shore

Wednesday, December 6th, 2006

Didn’t take too many shots today, woke up late and had problems getting yesterday’s shots loaded, Then hit traffic on the way to the North Shore. We weren’t really in a rush because the swell wasn’t supposed to start showing til afternoon. Later on today with bad light and alot of mist we were watching easy 20 foot faces rolling in at Pipe with bigger close-out sets every once in a while. Tomorrow is supposed to be the day, and the Pipe Contest may start on Friday…stay tuned.

Photos aren’t really very good but if you want to see them, click on the image below to view the gallery.

Nothing spectacular today, rainy, windy and choppy…but I was on the North Shore so I had to shoot. Sebastian Moreno showed up, and it looks like the last winner of the OBX Pro in 2005 Jesse Merle-Jones made an appearance. There are 2 pages of photos in this gallery (click on the numbers at the bottom of the page to change pages) Click on this shot of Sebastian to see the entire gallery.
