Here are the shots from the August 29, 2008 show on the 31st street stage in Virginia Beach.  I had a great spot to shoot from, right up front stage right. But for some reason the security guys decided I wasn’t allowed to shoot with my camera, I should have told them to stick it and kept shooting like the rest of the people in the crowd, but I moved to the back then slowly made my way up the center.  

Either way, it was a great show, enjoy the shots.

watch the sun come up as the front that kept Fay from heading north moves in, check out the direction of the clouds goes from west northwest to north northeast…this is a sequence of shots taken every 24 seconds for a couple of hours…more to come, maybe…

Ok, I shot waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many photos so they are broken down into 5 different galleries and seperated them by the time on the images, with the exception of the Pro Finals and the Life Rolls On Expression Session shots which are in their own gallery…my camera is off by an hour but I’m pretty sure everything is in order. 

I was shooting from the south beach (jetty area) most of the morning, but I was able to get some shots of some of the North Beach action, and even managed to get some shots of the award presentations.

Life Rolls On Expression Session

First up are the SUPER GROMS.  I tried to get as many of them as I could but it’s just not possible.  I haven’t looked at any of the images yet so there’s a good chance some our out of focus or over/under exposed…sorry, I just wanted to get them up a.s.a.p.

August 23rd 2008 ECSC ‘non-super grom’ photos…again, I haven’t even looked at them so some are probably out of focus and many are probably not exposed correctly, because editting takes time and I didn’t bring any sunscreen with me today…’you figure it out’

Headed north to Nags Head to shoot the Rip Curl Right Coast Raid shop challenge.  Not sure which shop won so stay tuned to SurfKDH.com for the results and more photos. Also Matt Lusk was there shooting so keep an eye out for his shots as well.

Tomorrow I’ll be heading down to Rodanthe for my annual week on the Beach. I’m hoping we get a swell like last years 3 days of fun and maybe a good thunderstorm or two.

Anyway a few things that I’m planning on attending in the next 10 Days:

Aug 15th at the Attic (above Watermans) @ 8:30pm Billabong Presents Surfers the Movie Then & Now    

                                      

August 16th – I’ll be at the Rip Curl Grom Search in Kitty Hawk (unless this is pushed back to the 17th, then I may or may not be there)

August 20th – @ Bonnet St from 2 to 4pm I will be in Nags Head to get some photos of Rip Curl riders Mick Fanning, Tom Curren, Pancho Sullivan and Taylor Knox.

I’ll end up the week back home in Va Beach shooting the final two days of the 46th Annual East Coast Surfing Championships.

 Then it’s an entire 2 weeks at home until I head back to California for a week of nothing but shooting.

This is a little late with me being in Chicago Last week. But Congrats go out to Mike and Dynah Beveridge on their Marriage last week down in Rodanthe.

I’ll be heading back to Hatteras for my yearly vacation with The Wyatts on the 16th. Hopefully we’ll see a repeat of last years solid surf, and if I’m lucky a good lightning storm and/or water spout or two.

Until then, we’ll just have to focus on what’s up in Va Beach, like the weekly Shadowlawn Surf Club get together.
