k, with the exception of a few tourist type shots, everything from the North Shore should finally be uploaded and viewable. Even though we missed Pipe , and the contest, by one day It was still a great time to take photos on the North Shore. I have just shipped my main camera back to Nikon to fix the damage that happened sometime last week, and to get that damn dust spec removed from the sensor. I get sick just looking at these galleries knowing that thing is in every shot (ok I removed it from the images in one of the galleries, but with 3500 shots I couldn’t do it to all of them although it is possible, I wanted to get these images up as fast as possible).  I’ll be back in town sometime Saturday night, maybe I’ll make it to the VLF party (Click here for info) and maybe we’ll get some surf here locally when my Camera returns. Keep your fingers crossed!Â

Spent another day shooting at Rocky Point after getting the call from Brendan Petticrew. Shots include Brendan, Wes Laine, Ian Parnell , Bobby Martinez, Taj Burrow and whoever else happened to be out there. Ok 930 images have finally been uploaded from this last day of my visit to the north shore. I was in the ”hold the button down and blast the sequence” mode again just hoping to get something special. Click on the image below to view the entire gallery I believe there are 10 pages on this one!

Another very windy day, the only spot we could find that was breaking was Sunset Beach. Pipe wasn’t doing anything. Gallery is now up you can view the entire gallery by clicking on the image below.

Surf was huge today on the North Shore, the reports were saying 22ft faces, but the wind was howling out of the north. Conditions were nothing close to clean, the only spot anybody was surfing was Waimea but that didn’t even look all that great. Hopefully the 8th will prove to be a better day condition wise and I’ll be back to taking 600 photos. As for the 7th the Spongers were in control at Pipe so I have a small Gallery of the few guys who were actually out there. Click on the Image below to see the gallery.

Didn’t take too many shots today, woke up late and had problems getting yesterday’s shots loaded, Then hit traffic on the way to the North Shore. We weren’t really in a rush because the swell wasn’t supposed to start showing til afternoon. Later on today with bad light and alot of mist we were watching easy 20 foot faces rolling in at Pipe with bigger close-out sets every once in a while. Tomorrow is supposed to be the day, and the Pipe Contest may start on Friday…stay tuned.
Photos aren’t really very good but if you want to see them, click on the image below to view the gallery.

Nothing spectacular today, rainy, windy and choppy…but I was on the North Shore so I had to shoot. Sebastian Moreno showed up, and it looks like the last winner of the OBX Pro in 2005 Jesse Merle-Jones made an appearance. There are 2 pages of photos in this gallery (click on the numbers at the bottom of the page to change pages) Click on this shot of Sebastian to see the entire gallery.

I’m finally back home after 3 days chasing the Helene swell around the Outer Banks. Hit up the Volcom Pro/Am contest in KDH today and just like last year, it was a Photo Feast. This makes nearly 2000 photos uploaded from the past 3 days, Let’s hope for some more days like these. I do plan on being at the Neptune Contest this weekend in VB.  ALSO: If you have an outstanding photo order please email me for an update. I’ve sent out a bunch of emails with no response, and I have some new prints that I need to have delivered.

Hit the road at sunrise with Ben from http://www.abstractvideodesign.com/video.htm (Click the link to see the video from today) Travelled up and down the Island. First hit S-Turns for a short session with Will Skudin and some decent sponging action…then bounced around and found the crowd for some sweet photos of people like, Ryan Kingsbury, Barry Price, Joe Hanley, John Barnes, Lindsey Bowman, Jason Borte, Jimmy V and anybody else who was on the beach….took a break for some lunch, and returned to the same spot. Although it was obviously smaller and the wind was howling the surfing was just as good when Sebastian Moreno, Price Wheeler and the Richards boys turned it on…..

I have a pretty healthy sized gallery from Day 1 of the 2006 ESA Easterns. All in all it was a pretty decent day of surfing. Although the lighting was difficult I managed to get some ok shots all day long, even in the early morning backlight.
To see Ben Stinson’s video from today’s action go to www.AbstractVideoDesign.com Click the link or the banner on the gallery pages.
This shot was taken of a couple of guys riding different sections of the same wave in the free suring area just south of the contest area, the guy in the orange jersey was coming in after his heat ended. I know this looks fake but it’s not, I actually missed the next snap where the guy in the middle launched into an air of his own, because I wanted to make sure I got this shot. The second shot is Zach Kenny who took two first places on Day one. The Hurricane Florence swell started to show today, but the wind was on it hard out of the northeast. I shot a few hours, in harsh light, Â at the OBX ESA contest in Nags Head and then headed south to see what was up. Frisco was clean but very small and nobody seemed to be able to catch anything at the pier while I was there so I headed back to the lighthouse and shot for about an hour.
I decided not to waste some days off this week to shoot the swell from Aunt Flo, I’m going to stay in Va Beach and shoot after work, unless I get some reports of Epic Conditions down south.

Spent the day up in New Jersey with Macon and Raven, along with Chris from VBSurfphotos.com and Little Steve :-)Â Â The lighting sucked while the conditions were at their best so forgive the poor image quality.Â

Photos are posted. Day started off in Nags Head with cloudy grey skies, but some decent sized surf and offshore winds. I then moved up to KDH to shoot a session with a bunch of Spongers taking on some meaty shorebreak. Around Noon I headed down to Rodanthe and shot with the nicest guy on the coast Mickey McCarthy until about 6pm. Now I’m off to New Jersey to see what’s up!

I have a few shots to try and edit and post from Friday Evening at 1st street. Conditions sucked for photos, but I’ll see what I can do with the few that I took, before I braved the flooded streets of Pungo to get down to the Outer Banks.

Niki took charge with three nearly perfect waves scoring a K9 and K9.5 to secure her victory. Below is a sequence of Niki tearing up the inside after spraying John Barnes for standing in the contest area.

Here are a couple of shots by ASPca photographer Michelle Wyatt
