…for The Joneses, Written and Directed by Virginia Beach’s Derrick Borte
I just received this email from Mr. Ken Hunt, so please check out the movie and join the party afterwards at Hooks.
This is your cordial invitation to the East Coast Premier of the movie, The
Jones! What makes this particularly special, is it was written and directed
by one of our very own Virginia Beach locals, Derrick Borte! This is truly
a unique opportunity to view the movie and come to the after party for a
meet and greet with Derrick Borte and some other VIP dignitaries that will
be on hand at Hooks immediately following the movie. I hope everyone comes
out to show support for one of our local boys making it to the big screen
this Friday 4/16! Although it will be playing at theaters all over town,
the beach crew will all be meeting at the Strawbridge theater to view the
movie around 7:00(the exact time will be posted on Thursday). We hope to
see you there!

Went out with John, Eddie, Jessie and Zack , looking for someplace to take pictures in the snow. After being kicked out of the Cavalier, we came across a fun little hill full of people sledding on anything that would slide and having the time of their life.

Been busy at work so haven’t really taken any photos aside from Hockey and all but the last 2 home games of this season have been posted (www.wrightcoastsurf.com/admirals) , I’m also working on some photos that I shot for 17TH Street Surf Shop last weekend with Philip Goold and Samantha Sarcinella. And as it stands right now I’ll be taking a trip with Ryan and Wendy Merritt and Suzie Boyce to Panama on Feb 19th…so there should be some photo ops in the near future.

Finally…after fighting all night with my router and then website, I give you August 26 , 2009′s Shadowlawn Surf Club Photos. Please know that I’m aware some people are having problems with the galleries not resizing correctly when you click on a thumbnail. If you do click on a smaller image and the page appears to go blank, look at the bottom and left sides of your web browser, if you see scroll bars that means the page is there, it’s just too big for your screen, scroll halfway to the right and halfway down and the larger images should be in the center. Sorry for this inconvenience, but I’m an idiot and can not figure out why this is happening…

In my never ending quest to find things to do when there’s no surf ( Aquarium, Zoo, Dolphin Watches, Admirals Games etc.) I’ve decided to revisit something I haven’t done in over 30 years.
Ryan at SurfKDH.com and myself are planning on checking out some Short Track action at Langley Speedway in Hampton this Saturday night.

It’s 5:00 am and we’re getting ready to head over to Avellanas again to see what the surf looks like over there.
I’m still having no luck uploading the photo galleries, but I’ll keep trying. In the meantime here’s a shot taking from the upper deck of Rex Barnes’ place last night, facing south over Tamarindo…

Photos have been posted from all 3 days of the contest. Sorry for the quality , I think there are 2400 total shots with crappy editting. I will clean everything up before sending them out.
