I’ll be working on the photos from Zeke’s Lil Rat Surfcus tonight after work…I really wanted to get the Wounded Warriors stuff up ASAP as I feel it’s the least I can do for those men and women.

Waiting it out in KDH to see what’s happening, just got word that they may be closing down Highway 12 in Rodanthe. I’ll probably be heading north to Va Beach shortly to shoot the good light at the home break, then make the call for Sunday later one today…stay tuned for some photos.

Local Surfer Josh Thompson who was stricken with this disease is the inspiration for this event which will be taking place on Sunday October 19th 2008 at 31st Street in Va Beach…

I spent yesterday in Hatteras with Joe Gillen, shooting in a few different locations. Photos should be posted by noon today.
Heading to the Boost Mobile Pro at Trestles on Saturday, hoping Hanna doesn’t cause my flights to be delayed.
Tomorrow I’ll be heading down to Rodanthe for my annual week on the Beach. I’m hoping we get a swell like last years 3 days of fun and maybe a good thunderstorm or two.
Anyway a few things that I’m planning on attending in the next 10 Days:
Aug 15th at the Attic (above Watermans) @ 8:30pm Billabong Presents Surfers the Movie Then & Now   Â

August 16th – I’ll be at the Rip Curl Grom Search in Kitty Hawk (unless this is pushed back to the 17th, then I may or may not be there)
August 20th – @ Bonnet St from 2 to 4pm I will be in Nags Head to get some photos of Rip Curl riders Mick Fanning, Tom Curren, Pancho Sullivan and Taylor Knox.
I’ll end up the week back home in Va Beach shooting the final two days of the 46th Annual East Coast Surfing Championships.
 Then it’s an entire 2 weeks at home until I head back to California for a week of nothing but shooting.
We’ll be here.
Tickets are booked and joining me on the trip will be Brad Styron and John Barnes for a week in Southern California. If any other East Coasters are planning on being out there, let Brad or Myself know if you’re interested in a Left Coast photo session. Â
I’m back in Va Beach for now. Hopefully we’ll have some surf this week.
Big news is, I’ll be back in California for the Boost Mobile Pro Presented by Hurley at Trestles from September 7th thru 13th. This is good for two reasons.
I’ve also found some decent deals on rental cars, if anyone needs any info drop me an email.
F.Y.I. As of today Sunday July 20th Continental Airlines has round trips to Los Angeles and San Diego from Norfolk for $198.00 plus about 35 bucks in fees. People flying out of Raleigh can fly into Orange County for the same price. These prices have been the same for the last three days, not sure how long this will last, and I’ve checked dates as late as the week after Thanksgiving.

I took a bus to Santa Monica pier last night, hoping to shoot some surf and or the sunset. Unfortunately, there was No Surf and the fog showed up the same time I did and the sunset was shot.
So to this point I have practically no photos of my first trip to California. We’ll see if that changes as I’m hoping to head down to Huntington Beach / Newport Beach in the morning for a few hours.
I need to come out here just to take pictures…I found some round trips from Norfolk for less than 300 bucks!
The fine for being on the Jetty is $35.00 the total after paying the court costs $111.00…
…at least I got 111 sky miles for paying the fine, thank you very much!

It looks like the forecasts are calling it close to epic the next couple of days and I’m still without a big lens. Just to set the record straight – Cookie did not break my 400mm, we just needed somebody to blame and he was right there when it happened. 
Anyway, my plans are to shoot in Va Beach on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, with the possibility of taking all day Wednesday off. I won’t have the usual reach but I should be able to manage. My hopes are plenty of lefts heading towards the jetty!
