Yours truly had an old version of the photo gallery still sitting on his website, and some jack@$$ found a way to install some script that was sending out phishing emails, so I was shut down for most of the day.

The issue has been resolved and the photos will be coming up soon.

JTWALK.ORG

Hey Everyone, I’m in the process of setting up a page for a good cause. JTWALK.ORG is going to be having a walk to raise Money and Awareness for ALS (Lou Gherig’s Disease) victims.

Local Surfer Josh Thompson who was stricken with this disease is the inspiration for this event which will be taking place on Sunday October 19th 2008 at 31st Street in Va Beach…

“The ALS Association raise monies through events and contributions to both assist families in need and to further research! One event is their â€œWALK FOR THE CUREâ€. Josh is not in need personally financially â€“ he is in need emotionally and wants to participate in the â€œALS WALK FOR THE CUREâ€ and hopes his friends and family (all of which have asked repeatedly â€œwhat can we do?â€) will join him on Sunday, October 19, 2008.

One hundred percent (100%) all money raised on October19 will go to the ALS Association â€“ DC/MD/VA Chapter to further drug therapies and stem cell research, etc”

I spent yesterday in Hatteras with Joe Gillen, shooting inÂ a few different locations. Photos should be posted by noon today.

Heading to the Boost Mobile Pro at Trestles on Saturday, hoping Hanna doesn’t cause my flights to be delayed.

Vacation 2008 Starts tonight!

Tomorrow I’ll be heading down to Rodanthe for my annual week on the Beach. I’m hoping we get a swell like last years 3 days of fun and maybe a good thunderstorm or two.

Anyway a few things that I’m planning on attending in the next 10 Days:

Aug 15th at the Attic (above Watermans) @ 8:30pm Billabong Presents Surfers the Movie Then & NowÂ Â Â Â

Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â

August 16th - I’ll be at the Rip Curl Grom Search in Kitty Hawk (unless this is pushed back to the 17th, then I may or may not be there)

August 20th - @ Bonnet St from 2 to 4pm I will be in Nags Head to get some photos of Rip Curl riders Mick Fanning, Tom Curren, Pancho Sullivan and Taylor Knox.

I’ll end up the week back home in Va Beach shooting the final two days of the 46th AnnualÂ East Coast Surfing Championships.

Â Then it’s an entire 2 weeks at home until I head back to California for a week of nothing but shooting.

Going back to Cali…$200 Round Trips

I’m back in Va Beach for now. Hopefully we’ll have some surf this week.

Big news is, I’ll be back in California for the Boost Mobile Pro Presented by Hurley at Trestles from September 7th thru 13th. This is good for two reasons.

I’ll get to shoot a pro contest at a spot I’ve never been to before
This pretty much Guarantees I’ll miss epic surf in Va Beach and the Outer Banks

I’ve also found some decent deals on rental cars, if anyone needs any info drop me an email.

F.Y.I. As of today Sunday July 20th Continental Airlines has round trips to Los Angeles and San Diego from Norfolk for $198.00 plus about 35 bucks in fees. People flying out of Raleigh can fly into Orange County for the same price. These prices have been the same for the last three days, not sure how long this will last, and I’ve checked dates as late as the week after Thanksgiving.

Greetings from California

I took a bus to Santa Monica pier last night, hoping to shoot some surf and or the sunset. Unfortunately, there was No Surf and the fog showed up the same time I did and the sunset was shot.

So to this point I have practically no photos of my first trip to California. We’ll see if that changes as I’m hoping to head down to Huntington Beach / Newport Beach in the morning for a few hours.

I need to come out here just to take pictures…I found some round trips from Norfolk for less than 300 bucks!

The fine for being on the Jetty is $35.00 the total after paying the court costs $111.00…

…at least I got 111 sky miles for paying the fine, thank you very much!

May 13- Good Surf - No Lens!

It looks like the forecasts are calling it close to epic the next couple of days and I’m still without a big lens.Â Just to set the record straight - Cookie did not break my 400mm, we just needed somebody to blame and he was right there when it happened.

Anyway, my plans are to shoot in Va Beach on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, with the possibility of taking all day Wednesday off. I won’t have the usual reach but I should be able to manage. My hopes are plenty of lefts heading towards the jetty!

Congrats Kellam High School…

I finally saw some surf this year, even took a few photos at 1st street on Thursday after work…Hopefully I’ll have those posted later tonight, Right now I’m packing up and Heading south to catch up with 2M for hopefully a much needes surf photo session….

March 8, 2008 - I’m heading to the Outer Banks!

Looks like it’s supposed to be 1-3ft overhead this weekend, with a possible cleaning up late Saturday and Sunday. I’m packing the gear and heading south, hopefully I’ll catch up with Mickey and get a long overdue surf photo session…stay tuned!

Â Also, the Admirals won last night, next game is next Friday I will be giving ticket vouchers away this week!Â 10 home games left!

I’ll be out of town all week, so I expect there will be some decent surf again. Hopefully next weekend the Outer Banks will have some surf as I’ll be down there for the first time in 2008!

Feb 27th - New York Rangers photos!

Crossing the GWB Â

Spent last weekend up in the NYC area and thanks to some good friends I was able to see all three NYC area NHL teams play…First on Saturday the Devils took it to the visiting Islanders ( Like a moron, I didn’t bring my camera, but next time I will) and then on Sunday night the Rangers owned the Florida Panthers 5-0.Â Pictures kinda suck, but what can ya do about that now?

I’ll be in Las Vegas from the 3rd thru the 7th so I expect there should be some decent surf showing up on Monday and being gone by Saturday.

Admirals are back in town on the 7th, the team has kinda been on fire lately so come check out the action.

February 21st update and Photo of the week #7

Sometimes I just like to spell out the word FEBRUARY because it just doesn’t look right…..

Anywho sports fans, just another mention, the shots from Monday appear overexposed on the website, I hosed something up in the batch conversion process and they are not blown, Pretty much every shot can be printed with the correct exposure and I can crop closer if you need, this new camera has plenty of room to work with cropping. I’ve also got my other camera back so I’m set now…bring on the surf!!!

This weekend I will be in and around NYC, going to see some NHL games and I get to shoot a Ranger’s game at THE GARDEN!!!Â Â

Feb 16 Update —- Admirals Game tonight!

I’m back from West Va. Got home just in time to make it to the Admirals game last night and I’m glad I didn’t miss that.

The Admirals have been on Fire lately scoring standings points in 8 of their last 10 games including 6 wins. Last nights game was pretty one sided with the Ads taking a 4-1 lead into the third period when all hell broke loose and everyone on the ice squared off including the goalies 166 total penalty minutes were handed out!Â Â Same teams play tonight at 7:15pm so come on out and cheer the team on.

Friday February 7th - update

First, the Admirals have turned it on recently and have points in their last 7 games (meaning they have won 5 games, and taken the other 2 to Overtime and the ever popular shoot-out)Â There are home games Tonight and Tomorrow and the Photo link will be published this weekend as soon as I’m done editting all the new stuff.

Second…I realize that I went 1,2,3,4,6 on the photo of the week…my bad. This one should make up for the missing week and is a preview of some shots I’ve taken at the Va Aquarium.Â Side note, I might be going on a whale watch the weekend of March 7th with some friends, if anybody wants to go take photos withÂ me, send an email.

And finally…it looks like this Saturday is going to be in the mid-60’s so I’m probably going to be hitting the zoo in Norfolk in the afternoon before the game so if you like any of the following…Hockey, Turtles,Â Animals and Motocross….I should have all the new photos up sometime Sunday.

So I missed another swell…at least I still have Hockey.

The Admirals are at home for 3 games next week, and 3 games the following week… Stay tuned this weekend if you want some free tickets!
