April 18th – Back to Surfing?

I finally saw some surf this year, even took a few photos at 1st street on Thursday after work…Hopefully I’ll have those posted later tonight, Right now I’m packing up and Heading south to catch up with 2M for hopefully a much needes surf photo session….

March 8, 2008 – I’m heading to the Outer Banks!

Looks like it’s supposed to be 1-3ft overhead this weekend, with a possible cleaning up late Saturday and Sunday. I’m packing the gear and heading south, hopefully I’ll catch up with Mickey and get a long overdue surf photo session…stay tuned!

 Also, the Admirals won last night, next game is next Friday I will be giving ticket vouchers away this week!  10 home games left!

Expect some surf this week…

I’ll be out of town all week, so I expect there will be some decent surf again. Hopefully next weekend the Outer Banks will have some surf as I’ll be down there for the first time in 2008!

Feb 27th – New York Rangers photos!

 

Spent last weekend up in the NYC area and thanks to some good friends I was able to see all three NYC area NHL teams play…First on Saturday the Devils took it to the visiting Islanders ( Like a moron, I didn’t bring my camera, but next time I will) and then on Sunday night the Rangers owned the Florida Panthers 5-0.  Pictures kinda suck, but what can ya do about that now?

I’ll be in Las Vegas from the 3rd thru the 7th so I expect there should be some decent surf showing up on Monday and being gone by Saturday.

Admirals are back in town on the 7th, the team has kinda been on fire lately so come check out the action.

February 21st update and Photo of the week #7

Sometimes I just like to spell out the word FEBRUARY because it just doesn’t look right…..

Anywho sports fans, just another mention, the shots from Monday appear overexposed on the website, I hosed something up in the batch conversion process and they are not blown, Pretty much every shot can be printed with the correct exposure and I can crop closer if you need, this new camera has plenty of room to work with cropping. I’ve also got my other camera back so I’m set now…bring on the surf!!!

This weekend I will be in and around NYC, going to see some NHL games and I get to shoot a Ranger’s game at THE GARDEN!!!

Feb 16 Update —- Admirals Game tonight!

I’m back from West Va. Got home just in time to make it to the Admirals game last night and I’m glad I didn’t miss that.

The Admirals have been on Fire lately scoring standings points in 8 of their last 10 games including 6 wins. Last nights game was pretty one sided with the Ads taking a 4-1 lead into the third period when all hell broke loose and everyone on the ice squared off including the goalies 166 total penalty minutes were handed out!   Same teams play tonight at 7:15pm so come on out and cheer the team on.

GO FIGURE!! I just saw the surf Alerts for this week….

…and I’m stuck in lovely Charleston, West Va until friday night!!!!!

Friday February 7th – update

First, the Admirals have turned it on recently and have points in their last 7 games (meaning they have won 5 games, and taken the other 2 to Overtime and the ever popular shoot-out)  There are home games Tonight and Tomorrow and the Photo link will be published this weekend as soon as I’m done editting all the new stuff.

Second…I realize that I went 1,2,3,4,6 on the photo of the week…my bad. This one should make up for the missing week and is a preview of some shots I’ve taken at the Va Aquarium.  Side note, I might be going on a whale watch the weekend of March 7th with some friends, if anybody wants to go take photos with  me, send an email.

And finally…it looks like this Saturday is going to be in the mid-60′s so I’m probably going to be hitting the zoo in Norfolk in the afternoon before the game so if you like any of the following…Hockey, Turtles,  Animals and Motocross….I should have all the new photos up sometime Sunday.

So I missed another swell…at least I still have Hockey.

The Admirals are at home for 3 games next week, and 3 games the following week… Stay tuned this weekend if you want some free tickets!

North Shore 2007

Saturday December 8th,  I’ll be arriving on the North shore for a week of shooting with Bryan Brough and 2M himself Mickey McCarthy, and a few days later hooking up with Ryan Kingsbury from SurfKDH.com.   Keep an eye out for daily updates.

Also if you know of any East Coasters who are going to be on the North Shore from the 9th thru the 15th…have them email me or Mickey for some possible photo sessions.

Wednesday Nov 21st..Surf????

I just realized the reports are saying there’s a swell in VB…I’m working a half day today, so Hopefully I’ll make it down to 1st street around 1:00pm… 

I’m working on a couple of updates which include some photos from China, as well as a new gallery of some shot’s I’ve done for Classic Design Builders and a couple of Local Realtors.

It’s Hockey night in Norfolk…I have ticket Vouchers to give away, read the info on the right side of this page.

I’m back…bring on the flatness!

I’m back from China and I’d like to say Hello to all my new friends who might actually be checking out the site out there, hopefully I’ll have some of the few shots I took posted in the next day or two. I expect there will be no surf until at least Dec 8th when I leave for Hawaii…oh well, it could be worse.

ADMIRALS GAMES THIS WEEK ON WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY…I’LL BE GIVING AWAY VOUCHERS STARTING TONIGHT!!!!

ARRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!

Ok, so I expected the east coast to get some surf while I’m out here enjoying the Orient, if you can call it enjoying. I’ve seen nothing historic and taken no photos in 2 weeks, but I never expected to miss the surf of the century. The more photos that I see the more Bummed I get.  If you haven’t already checked it out go to www.SURFKDH.com and see what Ryan has posted and wait to see what Mickey has taken!

I’m staying out here an extra week until Nov 16, so Hopefully this weekend I’ll get out and see something worth taking pictures of, and possible post them so all of you people who are sick of looking at the epic surf can take a break from all that crap!

This does mean I will not be making the Reef contest this Saturday or the Military Surfing Championships in Nags head this weekend. 

If anybody wants to get rich out here, I suggest starting a vending machine business, you’d be the first.

Hope everyone is enjoying my misery…see ya in a couple of weeks and I’ll have more Admirals Tickets to give away when I get home.  Get out there this Wednesday and Friday and say hello to Mickey McCarthy.

Upcoming Events / News Blah Blah Blah

Two Days until the Norfolk Admirals first Home game of the season. I still have one pair of vouchers left to give away this week…check the right side of this page for more info.

On October 27th Walking on Water ( http://walkingonwater.com/ ) will make it’s Virginia Beach premiere at the Virginia Beach Convention Center.  This will also be a fundraiser for the family of Josh Price who passed away recently.  Please click on the link on the left for more info from Ken Hunt and help out if you can. 

Finally for today, it does look like I’ll be leaving for China on Monday morning for 3 weeks so enjoy all the surf that will probably hang around for the entire time I’m gone, and don’t forget to go to the Admirals games. You may catch Mickey McCarthy doing the photo work while I’m away.

Since it’s been just that type of year…Right now it looks like I’ll be heading to Beijing China on October 22nd for 3 weeks for work, so as luck would have it, I wouldn’t be surprised if you all get some good to great surf.

While I’m gone I will not be able to fill any orders so I’m probably going to shut ordering down.  I should be back in town on November 9th , depending on what’s going on I’ll try and make the Reef Contest and then Sunday’s East Coast Military Surfing Championships in Nags Head.

 A few weeks after that it’s off to Hawaii for 8 days of North Shore Photos!  Let’s get Mickey his ticket!

SEPT 26 – WALKING WITH DINOSAURS

If you have kids, you’ve got to go to this show it was nothing short of amazing, the younger ones will love seeing the Dinosaurs, and the older ones may actually learn a thing or two about our planet’s history from the narration. 

I tried to take photos last night and have created a small gallery of the images. Sept 23rd Update:

Ok, so I drove down to the Outer Banks on Saturday. Hoping to shoot the Volcom contest, then Head down to the Lighthouse for the first day of the ESA Easterns.  I figured it was a bust when I pulled up at 1st street and Ryan Kingsbury was the only person there.  Actually there was on other guy who was just leaving.  Surf sucked, Contest was a wash.  I met up with John Barnes down in Nags head where there was a little wave, but nothing spectacular so I headed down to Hatteras. Seeing no cars lining the road anywhere, I figured I was S.O.L. , until I pulled into Rodanthe with cars lining the side of the road. I was more than a little suspect that this spot could be that much better than anywhere else. After watching it for a while I decided to shoot some photos.  Nothing spectacular, it was probably nothing more than stomach high with the occasional bigger set wave.  I shot for a while then headed back to Nags head to get some food and hang out.

I’ll have the photos from the 22nd posted sometime tonight, I’m not even going to bother heading to the Lighthouse this morning, I’m  just going to go back to VB and get some stuff done, including getting the rental house booked for Hawaii!!!

In the meantime, here’s a shot of the Wright (no relation) Brothers Memorial yesterday afternoon.
